Biography:
Dr. Vaishali Sahu is a seasoned Engineering Professional with over 14 years of experience in Academics and Research within the field of Environmental Engineering. Currently holding the positions of Deputy Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Associate Professor & Associate Head at the Department of Multidisciplinary Engineering at The NorthCap University in Gurgaon, Haryana. Dr. Sahu earned her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from SGSITS, Indore, followed by a Master's in Environmental Engineering from IIT Roorkee. She subsequently completed her Ph.D. at The NorthCap University in Gurgaon.
Specializing in solid and liquid waste management, recycle and reuse, waste and resource management, sustainable waste management, as well as water and wastewater treatment processes, Dr. Sahu has showcased her expertise through the publication of over 32 research papers in prestigious peer-reviewed National and International journals, along with a book and more than 19 research papers in conference proceedings. As a respected reviewer for various reputed International Journals, she actively contributes to the advancement of her field.
Dr. Sahu has supervised 3 Ph.D. theses, 14 M.Tech. dissertations, and over 20 B.Tech. projects focusing on sustainable waste management, water resource management, pollution and control, and environmental geotechnology. Currently mentoring 6 Ph.D. scholars at NCU, she has successfully managed a research project titled, “Experimental and Numerical Study of Single Pile Capacity Adjacent to Existing Buried Pipe System,” funded by the Department of Science and Technology, India, with a budget of Rs. 25.41 lakhs. Additionally, she is involved in 2 international funded projects totaling USD 16000 named “Carbon Capture from Cement Industry and its Economic Implications - Way forward for Developing Nations” and “Smart Waste Management in developing countries.” Dr. Sahu's dedication and contributions in the field of Environmental Engineering continue to make a significant impact on research and academia.
